A New Goalpost

I just came back from a work trip to Los Angeles and it was a whirlwind. An informative whirlwind. Being “trapped” on a plane for several hours over the course of a few days allowed me to really lock-in on reading and writing goals. Here’s what I’ve figured out.

I’m going to release Noble Charms this summer as my debut fiction. If you’re just tuning in (or if you’ve been here, but been confused), here’s how this process has gone:

I wrote Noble Charms in September last year. It’s a sweet, cozy, gay retelling of When Harry Met Sally. Very soft, very autumnal.

I immediately started expanding the world into a big, high-stakes scenario, and planned three books with lots of drama and excitement! Even though that didn’t really fit the vibe of Noble Charms—I’m a big fan of Big Books, you know? I was going to edit the book to match this new vibe.

I then spent the last six months working on this Big Series.

I’m now…walking back to the more relaxed, cozy, romcom side. Noble Charms is going to remain cozy and sweet, as it was originally intended. I may revisit the Big Idea for this world later on, but for now…

  • Summer 2026: Noble Charms (a gay fantasy retelling of When Harry Met Sally)

  • Fall 2026: Noble Pursuits (a gay fantasy retelling of Runaway Bride)

  • Winter 2026: Noble Vices (a gay fantasy retelling of Pretty Woman)

These will all be self-published and likely on Kindle Unlimited. I’ve gone back and forth with that—I like offering the book free here on my website, and obviously I cannot do that if I’m enrolled in Amazon’s KU. But a lot of readers, especially romance readers, are on KU. I feel a bit like I’m cutting myself off from a wide range of readers. So, tentatively, these three books will be available on KU.

Aside from this, I’ve been drawing more. I’m hoping to do a Noble Charms cover reveal soon! I may not do a “release date” reveal because I want to make sure the print version of the book is completely squared away and ready to go before then. But… Well, if you’re reading this, you’ll be the first to know one way or another.

Thanks for reading this, by the way. I really appreciate you.

Back to edits. Sigh!
